What is it?
What is the I Heart Scripture timeline? It’s a simple fold out that you can stick in your Bible to use as a resource when you study the Scriptures. It has a timeline along the top and is color coded so you can see where each of the books of the Bible fit into that timeline. It summarizes each book and shows how the plan for Jesus began in the beginning, in Genesis.
Why do I need it?
We don’t understand the purpose of Jesus or the imagery he uses to describe himself unless we understand the Old Testament. The hope is that this product will show the continuous story of Scripture, the expectation for Jesus from the beginning, and allow for a greater understanding of the Scriptures in personal and group Bible studies.
Where did it Come From?
I blame one of my girlfriend's for this whole project. I was sitting in my regular Bible study with a bunch of awesome women all trying to follow Jesus, and one of my girlfriend's said "I just can't read the Bible because I don't know where I am in it."
Since I have my Masters of Divinity, I began thinking, I could spend a couple nights creating a timeline that would help my friend understand the continuous story of Scripture, and how the books fit into it. Since I am a mom of two kids and working part-time, that couple nights project turned into what one of my other dear friends termed as "my great opus of 2016."
It ended up being a big project! But through the process, I re-fell in love with the Scriptures again and, through the power of the Holy Spirit, created something that I hope will help a bunch of other regular people out there better understand their Bible and know Jesus more intimately because of it. ~ Cynthia
